This boot camp offers a crash course in the distinctive style of theater-making utilized by Arm-of-the-Sea. The workshop is open to ages 16 & up. No prior experience necessary.
Under the direction of Arm-of-the-Sea co-founder Patrick Wadden, workshop participants will help build, improvise, rehearse, and perform an original production presented as Arm-of-the-Sea’s 22nd annual Esopus Creek Puppet Suite.
Introductory techniques include: paper-mache construction, puppet animation, ensemble voiceovers, and mask performance.
WORKSHOP SCHEDULE:

Puppet Construction and Movement 12 - 4pm
Cast Meal 5 - 6pm
Full Cast Rehearsals 6 - 9:30pm
PUBLIC PERFORMANCES:
Aug. 15, 16 & 17th @ 7pm

The Tidewater Center is located at 57 E. Bridge St, Saugerties, NY

Please note: This workshop involves group rehearsals and performances. Some activities are physically demanding. We hope participants are willing to expand their comfort zones. But we will not ask you to do anything that goes against your physical or emotional capacity.
One meal is provided each day at 5:30 for workshop participants and Puppet Suite performers. The meals will include grains, legumes, pasta, vegetables, meat, cheese, etc. With 12 or more participants, we are not able to cater to all dietary preferences. If you have dietary restrictions, please plan accordingly.
CANCELLATION POLICY:
If we cancel the Theater Arts Intensive for reasons beyond our control (ex: pandemics, natural disaster, etc), we will refund all your money except for the non-refundable deposit of $50 plus any credit card fees.
No refunds after August 8th. No refund is available if you cancel on the arrival day; if you do not show up; or if you leave an event early for any reason. No refund available if you attend the workshop and are dissatisfied with its presentation or content.
